Thanks to dudes doing yoga, I have been enjoying some eye candy with my morning tea. This is one is inspiration for me as one of my challenge poses....getting closer!
Love is the wish for another to be happy. Attachment is the wish for someone to make you happy.

Pagosa Springs, CO
We are spending a week in small town Colorado, decompressing and soaking in some heavenly hot springs. This is the first time in about a year that I have been away from my local yoga studio for an extended period, and not on a yoga retreat. I am finding myself seeking out snippets of time and space every day to practice a few poses—no music, no studio, no teacher, no yoga DVD, sometimes no mat—just my body and breath. I smile to think about the days when I had to make myself do yoga on vacation…and then feel guilty because I would never quite get around to it. Now I can’t seem to NOT do yoga. On the long drive out, I would stretch and grab a trikonasana or two at stops along the way. My daughter said, “Whenever you stretch, it looks like you are doing yoga.” I pause, waiting for the teen eye roll, then she says, “I think that is so cool.” Yeah, me too.

Still, I have many thoughts and feelings that are not ready for prime time, so I am also going to write along with a friend's 60 Day Summer Writing Challenge. My journaling is a hit and miss (mostly miss) affair, so this is an opportunity to add some structure and build a stronger writing practice. Perhaps some of those thoughts will see the light of day here, but I am giving myself permission to let the writing flow without editing. One technique I learned long ago was to put pen to paper and not lift it again until the page was filled or the timer went off. The prompt for Day 1: Who am I? Here we go.....
